Dear friends of Kehillat YOZMA, Shalom!

Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
and all her paths are peace
ãøëéä ãøëé ðåòí åëì ðúéáåúéä ùìåí

On this eve of the New Year 5767, I am pleased to share some exciting news with you.

Kehillat YOZMA’s own Rabbi Kinneret Shiryon will be honored this November with an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR). Rabbi Shiryon is receiving the Doctor of Divinity degree, honoris causa, in honor of the twenty-fifth anniversary of her rabbinic ordination.

We at Kehillat YOZMA could not be more proud of Rabbi Shiryon’s inspiring and tireless work in creating a thriving, successful Progressive Jewish community here in Modi’in, Israel. Rabbi Shiryon’s vision and determination nearly ten years ago, combined with her continued charismatic leadership and unflagging optimism, are responsible for YOZMA’s creation and continued growth.

In honor of Rabbi Shiryon’s receiving this prestigious recognition of her important work, we invite you to join us in honoring her by making a donation to YOZMA and thereby help further Rabbi Shiryon’s dream.

You may visit our website at http://yozma.org.il for more information on supporting YOZMA. We have added the option to donate directly on-line. You may also send your earmarked donation through the WUPJ.

For those of you planning a visit to Israel, the local YOZMA community will be hosting a special gala event in Modi’in to honor Kinneret on Motzei Shabbat, November 11th and we would be thrilled if you could join us!

We thank you in advance for your support of Rabbi Shiryon, her lifework and Kehillat YOZMA.

With best wishes for happy, healthy and peaceful New Year!

Shana Tova!
